⁵ and hope ^(A)does not disappoint, because the love of God has been ^(B)poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

⁶ For while we were still ^(C)helpless, ^(D)at the right time ^(E)Christ died for the ungodly. ⁷ For one will hardly die for a righteous person; ^[a]though perhaps for the good person someone would even dare to die. ⁸ But God ^(F)demonstrates ^(G)His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, ^(H)Christ died for us. ⁹ Much more then, having now been justified ^[b](I)by His blood, we shall be saved ^(J)from the wrath of God through Him. ¹⁰ For if while we were ^(K)enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved ^[c](L)by His life.

^3 (A)Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in ^(B)the heavenly places in Christ, ⁴ just as ^(C)He chose us in Him before ^(D)the foundation of the world, that we would be ^(E)holy and blameless before ^[a]Him. ^(F)In love ^5 [b]He ^(G)predestined us to ^(H)adoption as sons and daughters through Jesus Christ to Himself, ^(I)according to the good pleasure of His will,

⁴ But God, being ^(A)rich in mercy, because of ^(B)His great love with which He loved us, ⁵ even when we were ^(C)dead ^[a]in our wrongdoings, made us alive together ^[b]with Christ (^(D)by grace you have been saved),
