Romans 6:8-18

New American Standard Bible

⁸ Now ^(A)if we have died with Christ, we believe that ^(B)we shall also live with Him, ⁹ knowing that Christ, having been ^(C)raised from the dead, ^[a]is never to die again; ^(D)death no longer is master over Him. ¹⁰ For ^[b]the death that He died, He died to sin once for all time; but ^[c]the life that He lives, He lives to ^[d]God. ¹¹ So you too, consider yourselves to be ^(E)dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

¹² Therefore sin is not to ^(F)reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts, ¹³ and do not go on ^(G)presenting ^[e]the parts of your body to sin as ^[f]instruments of unrighteousness; but ^(H)present yourselves to God as those who are alive from the dead, and ^[g]your body’s parts as ^[h]instruments of righteousness for God. ¹⁴ For ^(I)sin shall not ^(J)be master over you, for ^(K)you are not under ^[i]the Law but ^(L)under grace.

¹⁵ What then? ^(M)Are we to sin because we are not under ^[j]the Law but under grace? ^[k](N)Far from it! ¹⁶ Do you not ^(O)know that the one to whom you present yourselves as ^(P)slaves for obedience, you are slaves of that same one whom you obey, either of ^(Q)sin ^[l]resulting in death, or of obedience ^[m]resulting in righteousness? ¹⁷ But ^(R)thanks be to God that ^[n]though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that ^[o](S)form of teaching to which you were entrusted, ¹⁸ and after being ^(T)freed from sin, you became slaves to righteousness.
