Now (A)if we have died with Christ, we believe that (B)we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been (C)raised from the dead, [a]is never to die again; (D)death no longer is master over Him. 10 For [b]the death that He died, He died to sin once for all time; but [c]the life that He lives, He lives to [d]God. 11 So you too, consider yourselves to be (E)dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

12 Therefore sin is not to (F)reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts, 13 and do not go on (G)presenting [e]the parts of your body to sin as [f]instruments of unrighteousness; but (H)present yourselves to God as those who are alive from the dead, and [g]your body’s parts as [h]instruments of righteousness for God. 14 For (I)sin shall not (J)be master over you, for (K)you are not under [i]the Law but (L)under grace.

15 What then? (M)Are we to sin because we are not under [j]the Law but under grace? [k](N)Far from it! 16 Do you not (O)know that the one to whom you present yourselves as (P)slaves for obedience, you are slaves of that same one whom you obey, either of (Q)sin [l]resulting in death, or of obedience [m]resulting in righteousness? 17 But (R)thanks be to God that [n]though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that [o](S)form of teaching to which you were entrusted, 18 and after being (T)freed from sin, you became slaves to righteousness.
