Third Bowl: The Waters Turn to Blood

Then the third angel poured out his bowl (A)on the rivers and springs of water, (B)and they became blood. And I heard the angel of the waters saying:

(C)“You are righteous, [a]O Lord,
The One (D)who is and who [b]was and who is to be,
Because You have judged these things.
For (E)they have shed the blood (F)of saints and prophets,
(G)And You have given them blood to drink.
[c]For it is their just due.”

And I heard [d]another from the altar saying, “Even so, (H)Lord God Almighty, (I)true and righteous are Your judgments.”

Fourth Bowl: Men Are Scorched

Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl (J)on the sun, (K)and power was given to him to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with great heat, and they (L)blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; (M)and they did not repent (N)and give Him glory.

The third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs of water,(A) and they became blood.(B) Then I heard the angel in charge of the waters say:

“You are just in these judgments,(C) O Holy One,(D)
    you who are and who were;(E)
for they have shed the blood of your holy people and your prophets,(F)
    and you have given them blood to drink(G) as they deserve.”

And I heard the altar(H) respond:

“Yes, Lord God Almighty,(I)
    true and just are your judgments.”(J)

The fourth angel(K) poured out his bowl on the sun,(L) and the sun was allowed to scorch people with fire.(M) They were seared by the intense heat and they cursed the name of God,(N) who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent(O) and glorify him.(P)
