Psalm 59

For the Music Director. To the melody of “Do Not Destroy.” A Miktam of David, when Saul sent men, and they watched the house to kill him.

Deliver me from my enemies, O my God;
    give me refuge from those who rise up against me.
Deliver me from the workers of iniquity,
    and save me from bloodthirsty people.

For they lie in wait for my life;
    the mighty are gathered against me,
    not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O Lord.
For no guilt of mine, they run and prepare themselves.
    Arise to help me, and take notice.
You, O Lord God of Hosts, the God of Israel,
    awake to punish all the nations;
    do not be gracious to any wicked transgressors. Selah

They return at evening,
    they growl like a dog,
    and go around the city.
Indeed, they burst out with their mouth;
    swords are in their lips;
    for who listens?
But You, O Lord, will laugh at them;
    You will have all the nations in derision.

O my strength, I will wait on You;
    for God is my refuge.

10 The God of lovingkindness will go before me;
    God will cause me to look in triumph on my enemies.
11 Do not slay them,
    lest my people forget;
scatter them by Your power,
    and bring them down, O Lord our shield.
12 For the sin of their mouth
    and the words of their lips,
    may they be snared by their pride,
and because of curses and lies that they speak.
13     Consume them in wrath,
    consume them so they no longer exist;
and let them know that God rules in Jacob
    to the ends of the earth. Selah

14 At evening they return,
    and growl like a dog,
    and go around the city.
15 They roam about to eat,
    and if they are not satisfied, they complain.
16 But I will sing of Your power;
    I will sing aloud of Your lovingkindness in the morning,
for You have been my refuge
    and escape in the day of my trouble.

17 To You, O my strength, I will sing,
    for God is my refuge, and the God of my lovingkindness.

Psalm 59

To the chief Musician, Al-taschith, Michtam of David; when Saul sent, and they watched the house to kill him.

Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God:
defend me from them that rise up against me.
Deliver me from the workers of iniquity,
and save me from bloody men.

For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul:
the mighty are gathered against me;
not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O Lord.
They run and prepare themselves without my fault:
awake to help me, and behold.
Thou therefore, O Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen:
be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah.
They return at evening:
they make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.
Behold, they belch out with their mouth:
swords are in their lips:
for who, say they, doth hear?
But thou, O Lord, shalt laugh at them;
thou shalt have all the heathen in derision.
Because of his strength will I wait upon thee:
for God is my defence.
10 The God of my mercy shall prevent me:
God shall let me see my desire upon mine enemies.
11 Slay them not, lest my people forget:
scatter them by thy power;
and bring them down, O Lord our shield.
12 For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride:
and for cursing and lying which they speak.
13 Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they may not be:
and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah.
14 And at evening let them return;
and let them make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.
15 Let them wander up and down for meat,
and grudge if they be not satisfied.

16 But I will sing of thy power;
yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning:
for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.
17 Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing:
for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy.

59 Líbrame de mis enemigos, oh Dios mío;

Porque he aquí están acechando mi vida;

Se han juntado contra mí poderosos.

No por falta mía, ni pecado mío, oh Jehová;

Despierta para castigar a todas las naciones;

Selah

Volverán a la tarde, ladrarán como perros,

Y rodearán la ciudad.

He aquí proferirán con su boca;

Espadas hay en sus labios,

Porque dicen: ¿Quién oye?

Mas tú, Jehová, te reirás de ellos;

10 El Dios de mi misericordia irá delante de mí;

11 No los mates, para que mi pueblo no olvide;

13 Acábalos con furor, acábalos, para que no sean;

Y sépase que Dios gobierna en Jacob

Hasta los fines de la tierra. Selah

15 Anden ellos errantes para hallar qué comer;

Y alabaré de mañana tu misericordia;

17 Fortaleza mía, a ti cantaré;
