³ When I ^(G)look at your heavens, the work of your ^(H)fingers,
    the moon and the stars, ^(I)which you have set in place,
^4 (J)what is man that you are ^(K)mindful of him,
    and ^(L)the son of man that you ^(M)care for him?

⁵ Yet you have made him a little lower than ^(N)the heavenly beings^[b]
    and crowned him with ^(O)glory and honor.
⁶ You have given him ^(P)dominion over the works of your hands;
    ^(Q)you have put all things under his feet,
⁷ all sheep and oxen,
    and also the beasts of the field,
⁸ the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea,
    whatever passes along the paths of the seas.

⁹ O Lord, our Lord,
    how majestic is your name in all the earth!

³ There is ^(E)no soundness in my flesh
    because of your indignation;
there is no health in my ^(F)bones
    because of my sin.
⁴ For my ^(G)iniquities have gone over my head;
    like a heavy burden, they are too heavy for me.

⁵ My wounds stink and fester
    because of my foolishness,
⁶ I am ^(H)utterly bowed down and ^(I)prostrate;
    all the day I ^(J)go about mourning.
⁷ For my sides are filled with burning,
    and there is ^(K)no soundness in my flesh.
⁸ I am feeble and crushed;
    I ^(L)groan because of the tumult of my heart.

⁹ O Lord, all my longing is before you;
    my ^(M)sighing is not hidden from you.
¹⁰ My heart throbs; my strength fails me,
    and ^(N)the light of my eyes—it also has gone from me.
¹¹ My ^(O)friends and companions ^(P)stand aloof from my ^(Q)plague,
    and my nearest kin ^(R)stand far off.

¹² Those who seek my life ^(S)lay their snares;
    those who seek my hurt ^(T)speak of ruin
    and meditate ^(U)treachery all day long.

¹³ But I am like a deaf man; I do not hear,
    like ^(V)a mute man who does not open his mouth.
¹⁴ I have become like a man who does not hear,
    and in whose mouth are no ^(W)rebukes.

¹⁵ But for ^(X)you, O Lord, do I wait;
    it is you, O Lord my God, who will answer.
¹⁶ For I said, “Only ^(Y)let them not rejoice over me,
    who ^(Z)boast against me when my ^(AA)foot slips!”

¹⁷ For I am ^(AB)ready to fall,
    and my pain is ever before me.
¹⁸ I ^(AC)confess my iniquity;
    I am ^(AD)sorry for my sin.
¹⁹ But my foes are vigorous, they are mighty,
    and many are those who hate me ^(AE)wrongfully.
²⁰ Those who ^(AF)render me evil for good
    ^(AG)accuse me because I ^(AH)follow after good.

²¹ Do not forsake me, O Lord!
    O my God, be not ^(AI)far from me!
^22 (AJ)Make haste to help me,
    O Lord, my ^(AK)salvation!

⁴ Sing to God, ^(F)sing praises to his name;
    ^(G)lift up a song to him who ^(H)rides through ^(I)the deserts;
his name is ^(J)the Lord;
    exult before him!
^5 (K)Father of the fatherless and ^(L)protector of widows
    is God in his holy habitation.
⁶ God ^(M)settles the solitary in a home;
    he ^(N)leads out the prisoners to prosperity,
    but ^(O)the rebellious dwell in ^(P)a parched land.

⁷ O God, when you ^(Q)went out before your people,
    ^(R)when you marched through ^(S)the wilderness, Selah
^8 (T)the earth quaked, the heavens poured down rain,
    before God, the One of Sinai,
    before God,^[a] the God of Israel.
^9 (U)Rain in abundance, O God, you shed abroad;
    you restored your inheritance as it languished;
¹⁰ your flock^[b] found a dwelling in it;
    in your goodness, O God, you ^(V)provided for the needy.

¹¹ The Lord gives ^(W)the word;
    ^(X)the women who announce the news are a great host:
^{12     (Y)}“The kings of the armies—they flee, they flee!”
The women at home ^(Z)divide the spoil—
¹³     though you men lie among ^(AA)the sheepfolds—
the wings of a dove covered with silver,
    its pinions with shimmering gold.
¹⁴ When the Almighty scatters kings there,
    let snow fall on ^(AB)Zalmon.

¹⁵ O mountain of God, mountain of Bashan;
    O many-peaked^[c] mountain, mountain of Bashan!
¹⁶ Why do you look with hatred, O many-peaked mountain,
    at the mount that God ^(AC)desired for his abode,
    yes, where the Lord will dwell forever?
^17 (AD)The chariots of God are twice ten thousand,
    thousands upon thousands;
    the Lord is among them; Sinai is now in the sanctuary.
^18 (AE)You ascended on high,
    ^(AF)leading a host of captives in your train
    and ^(AG)receiving gifts among men,
even among ^(AH)the rebellious, ^(AI)that the Lord God may dwell there.

¹⁹ Blessed be the Lord,
    who daily ^(AJ)bears us up;
    God is our salvation. Selah
²⁰ Our God is a God of salvation,
    ^(AK)and to God, the Lord, belong deliverances from death.
^21 (AL)But God will strike the heads of his enemies,
    the hairy crown of him who walks in his guilty ways.
²² The Lord said,
    “I will bring them back ^(AM)from Bashan,
^(AN)I will bring them back from the depths of the sea,
²³ that you may ^(AO)strike your feet in their blood,
    that ^(AP)the tongues of your dogs may have their portion from the foe.”

²⁴ Your procession is^[d] seen, O God,
    the procession of my God, my King, into the sanctuary—
^25 (AQ)the singers in front, ^(AR)the musicians last,
    between them ^(AS)virgins playing tambourines:
^26 (AT)“Bless God in the great congregation,
    the Lord, O you^[e] who are of ^(AU)Israel's fountain!”
²⁷ There is ^(AV)Benjamin, the least of them, in the lead,
    the princes of Judah in their throng,
    the princes of ^(AW)Zebulun, the princes of Naphtali.

^28 (AX)Summon your power, O God,^[f]
    the power, O God, by which you have worked for us.
²⁹ Because of your temple at Jerusalem
    kings shall ^(AY)bear gifts to you.
³⁰ Rebuke ^(AZ)the beasts that dwell among the reeds,
    the herd of ^(BA)bulls with the calves of the peoples.
^(BB)Trample underfoot those who lust after tribute;
    scatter the peoples who delight in war.^[g]
31 Nobles shall come from ^(BC)Egypt;
    ^(BD)Cush shall hasten to ^(BE)stretch out her hands to God.

^32 (BF)O kingdoms of the earth, sing to God;
    sing praises to the Lord, Selah
³³ to him ^(BG)who rides in ^(BH)the heavens, the ancient heavens;
    behold, he ^(BI)sends out his voice, his mighty voice.
^34 (BJ)Ascribe power to God,
    whose majesty is over Israel,
    and whose ^(BK)power is in ^(BL)the skies.
^35 (BM)Awesome is God from his^{[h] (BN)}sanctuary;
    the God of Israel—he is the one who gives ^(BO)power and strength to his people.

^4 (K)Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth;
    ^(L)break forth into joyous song and sing praises!
⁵ Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre,
    with the lyre and the ^(M)sound of melody!
⁶ With ^(N)trumpets and the sound of ^(O)the horn
    ^(P)make a joyful noise before the King, the Lord!

^7 (Q)Let the sea roar, and ^(R)all that fills it;
    ^(S)the world and those who dwell in it!
⁸ Let the rivers ^(T)clap their hands;
    let ^(U)the hills sing for joy together
⁹ before the Lord, for he comes
    to ^(V)judge the earth.
He will judge the world with righteousness,
    and the peoples with equity.

³ Your wife will be like ^(E)a fruitful vine
    within your house;
your children will be like ^(F)olive shoots
    around your table.
⁴ Behold, thus shall the man be blessed
    who fears the Lord.

^5 (G)The Lord bless you ^(H)from Zion!
    May you see ^(I)the prosperity of Jerusalem
    all the days of your life!
⁶ May you see your ^(J)children's children!
