³ Do not ^(G)drag me off with the wicked,
    with the workers of evil,
^(H)who speak peace with their neighbors
    while evil is in their hearts.
^4 (I)Give to them according to their work
    and according to the evil of their deeds;
give to them according to the work of their hands;
    ^(J)render them their due reward.
⁵ Because they ^(K)do not regard the works of the Lord
    or the work of his hands,
he will tear them down and build them up no more.

⁶ Blessed be the Lord!
    For he has ^(L)heard the voice of my pleas for mercy.
⁷ The Lord is my strength and ^(M)my shield;
    in him my heart ^(N)trusts, and I am helped;
my heart exults,
    and with my ^(O)song I give thanks to him.

⁸ The Lord is the strength of his people;^[b]
    he is ^(P)the saving refuge of his anointed.
⁹ Oh, save your people and bless ^(Q)your heritage!

³ The wicked are ^(D)estranged from the womb;
    they go astray from birth, speaking lies.
^4 (E)They have venom like the venom of a serpent,
    like the deaf adder that stops its ear,
⁵ so that it ^(F)does not hear the voice of charmers
    or of the cunning enchanter.

⁶ O God, ^(G)break the teeth in their mouths;
    tear out the fangs of the young lions, O Lord!
⁷ Let them ^(H)vanish like water that runs away;
    when he ^(I)aims his arrows, let them be blunted.
⁸ Let them be like the snail ^(J)that dissolves into slime,
    like ^(K)the stillborn child who never sees the sun.
⁹ Sooner than your pots can feel the heat of ^(L)thorns,
    whether green or ablaze, may he ^(M)sweep them away!^[c]

^10 (N)The righteous will rejoice when he sees the vengeance;
    he will ^(O)bathe his feet in the blood of the wicked.
¹¹ Mankind will say, “Surely there is ^(P)a reward for the righteous;
    surely there is a God who ^(Q)judges on earth.”

³ For my soul is full of troubles,
    and ^(G)my life draws near to ^(H)Sheol.
⁴ I am counted among those who ^(I)go down to the pit;
    I am a man who has no strength,
⁵ like one set loose among the dead,
    like the slain that lie in the grave,
like those whom ^(J)you remember no more,
    for they are ^(K)cut off from your hand.
⁶ You have put me in ^(L)the depths of the pit,
    in the ^(M)regions dark and ^(N)deep.

    What can man do to me?

    in the name of the Lord I cut them off!

    are in the tents of the righteous:

^17 (W)I shall not die, but I shall live,
    and ^(X)recount the deeds of the Lord.
¹⁸ The Lord has ^(Y)disciplined me severely,
    but he has not given me over to death.

^19 (Z)Open to me the gates of righteousness,
    that I may enter through them
    and give thanks to the Lord.
²⁰ This is the gate of the Lord;
    ^(AA)the righteous shall enter through it.
²¹ I thank you that ^(AB)you have answered me
    ^(AC)and have become my salvation.
^22 (AD)The stone that the builders rejected
    has become the cornerstone.^[b]
23 This is the Lord's doing;
    it is marvelous in our eyes.
²⁴ This is the day that the Lord has made;
    let us rejoice and be glad in it.

²⁵ Save us, we pray, O Lord!
    O Lord, we pray, give us success!

Bind the festal sacrifice with cords,

¹¹ Kings of the earth and ^(W)all peoples,
    princes and all rulers of the earth!
¹² Young men and maidens together,
    old men and children!

^13 (X)Let them praise the name of the Lord,
    for ^(Y)his name alone is exalted;
    ^(Z)his majesty is above earth and heaven.
¹⁴ He has ^(AA)raised up a horn for his people,
    ^(AB)praise for all his saints,
    for the people of Israel who are ^(AC)near to him.
