Psalm 89:19-37

New American Standard Bible

^19 [a]Once You spoke in vision to Your godly ^[b]ones,
And said, “I have ^[c]given help to one who is ^(A)mighty;
I have exalted one ^(B)chosen from the people.
²⁰ I have ^(C)found My servant David;
With My holy ^(D)oil I have anointed him,
²¹ With whom ^(E)My hand will be established;
My arm also will ^(F)strengthen him.
²² The enemy will not ^[d]deceive him,
Nor will the ^[e](G)son of wickedness afflict him.
²³ But I will ^(H)crush his adversaries before him,
And strike those who hate him.
²⁴ My ^(I)faithfulness and My favor will be with him,
And in My name his ^(J)horn will be exalted.
²⁵ I will also place his hand ^(K)on the sea,
And his right hand on the rivers.
²⁶ He will call to Me, ‘You are ^(L)my Father,
My God, and the ^(M)rock of my salvation.’
²⁷ I will also make him My ^(N)firstborn,
The ^(O)highest of the kings of the earth.
²⁸ I will maintain My ^(P)favor for him forever,
And My ^(Q)covenant shall be confirmed to him.
²⁹ So I will establish his ^[f](R)descendants forever,
And his ^(S)throne ^(T)as the days of heaven.

³⁰ “If his sons ^(U)abandon My Law
And do not walk in My judgments,
³¹ If they ^[g]violate My statutes
And do not keep My commandments,
³² Then I will punish their wrongdoing with the ^(V)rod,
And their guilt with ^[h]afflictions.
³³ But I will not ^[i]withhold ^(W)My favor from him,
Nor deal falsely in My faithfulness.
³⁴ I will not ^[j]violate My ^(X)covenant,
Nor will I ^(Y)alter ^[k]the utterance of My lips.
^35 [l]Once I have ^(Z)sworn by My holiness;
I will not lie to David.
³⁶ His ^[m](AA)descendants shall endure forever,
And his ^(AB)throne ^(AC)as the sun before Me.
³⁷ It shall be established forever ^(AD)like the moon,
And a ^(AE)witness in the sky is faithful.” Selah
