The Mountain of the Lord^(A)

2 This is what Isaiah son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem:^(B)

The Mountain of the Lord^(A)

4 In the last days

² Many nations will come and say,

¹² Go, proclaim this message toward the north:^(A)

¹⁴ “Return,^(J) faithless people,” declares the Lord, “for I am your husband.^(K) I will choose you—one from a town and two from a clan—and bring you to Zion. ¹⁵ Then I will give you shepherds^(L) after my own heart,^(M) who will lead you with knowledge and understanding. ¹⁶ In those days, when your numbers have increased greatly in the land,” declares the Lord, “people will no longer say, ‘The ark^(N) of the covenant of the Lord.’ It will never enter their minds or be remembered;^(O) it will not be missed, nor will another one be made. ¹⁷ At that time they will call Jerusalem The Throne^(P) of the Lord, and all nations^(Q) will gather in Jerusalem to honor^(R) the name of the Lord. No longer will they follow the stubbornness of their evil hearts.^(S)

The Throne in Heaven

4 After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open^(A) in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet^(B) said, “Come up here,^(C) and I will show you what must take place after this.”^{(D) 2} At once I was in the Spirit,^(E) and there before me was a throne in heaven^(F) with someone sitting on it.

¹¹ But after the three and a half days^(A) the breath^[a] of life from God entered them,^(B) and they stood on their feet, and terror struck those who saw them. ¹² Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.”^(C) And they went up to heaven in a cloud,^(D) while their enemies looked on.

¹³ At that very hour there was a severe earthquake^(E) and a tenth of the city collapsed. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the survivors were terrified and gave glory^(F) to the God of heaven.^(G)
