Do Not Judge(A)

“Judge[a] (B)not, that you be not judged. For with what [b]judgment you judge, you will be judged; (C)and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. (D)And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

(E)“Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.

Keep Asking, Seeking, Knocking(F)

(G)“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For (H)everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. (I)Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If you then, (J)being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! 12 Therefore, (K)whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for (L)this is the Law and the Prophets.

The Narrow Way(M)

13 (N)“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 [c]Because narrow is the gate and [d]difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

The Parable of the Sower Explained(A)

13 And He said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables? 14 (B)The sower sows the word. 15 And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts. 16 These likewise are the ones sown on stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness; 17 and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble. 18 Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, 19 and the (C)cares of this world, (D)the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. 20 But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, [a]accept it, and bear (E)fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.”

Light Under a Basket(F)

21 (G)Also He said to them, “Is a lamp brought to be put under a basket or under a bed? Is it not to be set on a lampstand? 22 (H)For there is nothing hidden which will not be revealed, nor has anything been kept secret but that it should come to light. 23 (I)If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.”

24 Then He said to them, “Take heed what you hear. (J)With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given. 25 (K)For whoever has, to him more will be given; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.”

The Parable of the Growing Seed

26 And He said, (L)“The kingdom of God is as if a man should [b]scatter seed on the ground, 27 and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and (M)grow, he himself does not know how. 28 For the earth (N)yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. 29 But when the grain ripens, immediately (O)he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.”

The Parable of the Mustard Seed(P)

30 Then He said, (Q)“To what shall we liken the kingdom of God? Or with what parable shall we picture it? 31 It is like a mustard seed which, when it is sown on the ground, is smaller than all the seeds on earth; 32 but when it is sown, it grows up and becomes greater than all herbs, and shoots out large branches, so that the birds of the air may nest under its shade.”

32 (A)“But if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. 33 And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. 34 (B)And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you? For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back. 35 But (C)love your enemies, (D)do good, and (E)lend, [a]hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and (F)you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. 36 (G)Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.

Do Not Judge(H)

37 (I)“Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. (J)Forgive, and you will be forgiven. 38 (K)Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your (L)bosom. For (M)with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

39 And He spoke a parable to them: (N)“Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into the ditch? 40 (O)A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher. 41 (P)And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not perceive the plank in your own eye? 42 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me remove the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the plank that is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck that is in your brother’s eye.

A Tree Is Known by Its Fruit(Q)

43 (R)“For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. 44 For (S)every tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush. 45 (T)A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil [b]treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out (U)of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
