3 and said to him, “Are you (A)the one who is to come, or shall we (B)look for another?” 4 And Jesus answered them, “Go and tell John what you hear and see: 5 (C)the blind receive their sight and the lame walk, lepers[a] are cleansed and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and (D)the poor have good news preached to them.

3 “Are you the Messiah we’ve been expecting,[a] or should we keep looking for someone else?”
4 Jesus told them, “Go back to John and tell him what you have heard and seen— 5 the blind see, the lame walk, those with leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised to life, and the Good News is being preached to the poor.”

3 to ask Jesus, “Are you the one who is coming, or should we look for someone else?”
4 Jesus answered John’s disciples, “Go back, and tell John what you hear and see: 5 Blind people see again, lame people are walking, those with skin diseases are made clean, deaf people hear again, dead people are brought back to life, and poor people hear the Good News.
