⁸ Most of the crowd ^(A)spread their cloaks on the road, and others were cutting branches from the trees and spreading them on the road. ⁹ Now the crowds going ahead of Him, and those who followed, were shouting,

¹⁰ When He had entered Jerusalem, all the city was stirred, saying, “Who is this?” ¹¹ And the crowds were saying, “This is ^(E)Jesus the prophet, from ^(F)Nazareth in Galilee.”

⁸ And many people spread their cloaks on the road, and others spread leafy branches which they had cut from the fields. ⁹ And those who went in front and those who followed were shouting:

The Triumphal Entry

¹² On the next day, when ^(A)the large crowd that had come to ^(B)the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, ¹³ they took the branches of the palm trees and went out to meet Him, and began shouting, “^(C)Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord, indeed, the ^(D)King of Israel!” ¹⁴ Jesus, finding a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written: ¹⁵ “^(E)Do not fear, daughter of Zion; behold, your King is coming, seated on a donkey’s colt.” ^16 (F)These things His disciples did not understand at the first; but when Jesus ^(G)was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written of Him, and that they had done these things for Him.
