¹⁸ And I tell you, ^(A)you are Peter, and ^(B)on this rock^[a] I will build my church, and ^(C)the gates of ^(D)hell^[b] shall not prevail against it.

^20 (A)The God of peace ^(B)will soon crush Satan under your feet. ^(C)The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

²⁴ Then comes the end, when he delivers ^(A)the kingdom to God the Father after destroying ^(B)every rule and every authority and power. ²⁵ For he must reign ^(C)until he has put all his enemies under his feet. ²⁶ The last enemy to be ^(D)destroyed is death. ²⁷ For ^(E)“God^[a] has put all things in subjection under his feet.” But when it says, “all things are put in subjection,” it is plain that he is excepted who put all things in subjection under him.

¹² “Behold, ^(A)I am coming soon, ^(B)bringing my recompense with me, ^(C)to repay each one for what he has done. ^13 (D)I am the Alpha and the Omega, ^(E)the first and the last, ^(F)the beginning and the end.”
