44 Therefore be ye also ready; for in an hour that ye think not the Son of man cometh.
45 Who then is the faithful and wise [a]servant, whom his lord hath set over his household, to give them their food in due season? 46 Blessed is that [b]servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. 47 Verily I say unto you, that he will set him over all that he hath. 48 But if that evil [c]servant shall say in his heart, My lord tarrieth; 49 and shall begin to beat his fellow-servants, and shall eat and drink with the drunken; 50 the lord of that [d]servant shall come in a day when he expecteth not, and in an hour when he knoweth not,

44 So you also must be ready,(A) because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
45 “Who then is the faithful and wise servant,(B) whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? 46 It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns.(C) 47 Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions.(D) 48 But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, ‘My master is staying away a long time,’ 49 and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards.(E) 50 The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of.
