²⁴ And Joseph awoke from his sleep and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took Mary as his wife, ^25 [a]but kept her a virgin until she ^(A)gave birth to a Son; and ^(B)he named Him Jesus.

³⁸ And Mary said, “Behold, the Lord’s bond-servant; may it be done to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

⁴⁸ If we let Him go on like this, all the people will believe in Him, and the Romans will come and take over both our ^[a](A)place and our nation.”
