Jesus Calls the First Disciples
5 Once while Jesus[a] was standing beside the lake of Gennesaret, and the crowd was pressing in on him to hear the word of God, 2 he saw two boats there at the shore of the lake; the fishermen had gone out of them and were washing their nets. 3 He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little way from the shore. Then he sat down and taught the crowds from the boat. 4 When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep water and let down your nets for a catch.” 5 Simon answered, “Master, we have worked all night long but have caught nothing. Yet if you say so, I will let down the nets.” 6 When they had done this, they caught so many fish that their nets were beginning to break. 7 So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both boats, so that they began to sink. 8 But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Go away from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man!” 9 For he and all who were with him were amazed at the catch of fish that they had taken; 10 and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. Then Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching people.” 11 When they had brought their boats to shore, they left everything and followed him.

5 (A)Mentre egli stava in piedi sulla riva del lago di Gennesaret e la folla si stringeva intorno a lui per udire la parola di Dio, 2 Gesù vide due barche ferme a riva: da esse i pescatori erano smontati e lavavano le reti. 3 Montato su una di quelle barche, che era di Simone, lo pregò di scostarsi un poco da terra; poi, sedutosi sulla barca, insegnava alla folla.
4 Com’ebbe terminato di parlare, disse a Simone: «Prendi il largo, e gettate le vostre reti per pescare». 5 Simone [gli] rispose: «Maestro, tutta la notte ci siamo affaticati e non abbiamo preso nulla; però, secondo la tua parola, getterò le reti[a]». 6 E, fatto così, presero una tal quantità di pesci, che le loro reti si rompevano[b]. 7 Allora fecero segno ai loro compagni dell’altra barca di venire ad aiutarli. Quelli vennero e riempirono tutte e due le barche, tanto che affondavano. 8 Simon Pietro, veduto ciò, si gettò ai piedi[c] di Gesù, dicendo: «Signore, allontànati da me, perché sono un peccatore[d]». 9 Perché spavento aveva colto lui e tutti quelli che erano con lui, per la quantità di pesci che avevano presi, 10 e così pure Giacomo e Giovanni, figli di Zebedeo, che erano soci di Simone. Allora Gesù disse a Simone: «Non temere; d’ora in poi sarai pescatore di uomini». 11 Ed essi, tratte le barche a terra, lasciarono ogni cosa e lo seguirono.

5 Es begab sich aber, als die Menge sich zu ihm drängte, um das Wort Gottes zu hören, dass er am See Genezareth stand;
2 und er sah zwei Schiffe am Ufer liegen; die Fischer aber waren aus ihnen ausgestiegen und wuschen die Netze.
3 Da stieg er in eines der Schiffe, das Simon gehörte, und bat ihn, ein wenig vom Land wegzufahren; und er setzte sich und lehrte die Volksmenge vom Schiff aus.
4 Als er aber zu reden aufgehört hatte, sprach er zu Simon: Fahre hinaus auf die Tiefe, und lasst eure Netze zu einem Fang hinunter!
5 Und Simon antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Meister, wir haben die ganze Nacht hindurch gearbeitet und nichts gefangen; aber auf dein Wort will ich das Netz auswerfen!
6 Und als sie das getan hatten, fingen sie eine große Menge Fische; und ihr Netz begann zu reißen.
7 Da winkten sie den Gefährten, die im anderen Schiff waren, dass sie kommen und ihnen helfen sollten; und sie kamen und füllten beide Schiffe, sodass sie zu sinken begannen.
8 Als aber Simon Petrus das sah, fiel er zu den Knien Jesu nieder und sprach: Herr, gehe von mir hinweg, denn ich bin ein sündiger Mensch!
9 Denn ein Schrecken überkam ihn und alle, die bei ihm waren, wegen des Fischzuges, den sie gemacht hatten;
10 gleicherweise auch Jakobus und Johannes, die Söhne des Zebedäus, die Simons Teilhaber waren. Und Jesus sprach zu Simon: Fürchte dich nicht; von nun an sollst du Menschen fangen!
11 Und sie brachten die Schiffe ans Land, verließen alles und folgten ihm nach.

5 Egyszer a Genezáreti-tó partján nagy tömeg vette körül Jézust, hogy Isten üzenetét hallgassák. 2 Jézus meglátott a parton két halászbárkát. A halászok éppen akkor szálltak partra, és a hálóikat mosták. 3 Jézus beszállt az egyik bárkába, amely Simoné volt. Megkérte Simont, hogy evezzen kissé beljebb a vizen. Majd leült a bárkában, és úgy tanította az embereket.
4 Miután befejezte, Simonhoz fordult: „Evezzetek ki a mély vízre, és engedjétek le a hálóitokat halfogásra!”
5 Simon így válaszolt: „Mester, egész éjjel keményen dolgoztunk, mégsem fogtunk semmit, de ha te mondod, megteszem.” 6 Amikor leeresztették, olyan sok halat fogtak, hogy a hálók majdnem szétszakadtak. 7 Ezért intettek a másik hajóban lévő társaiknak, hogy jöjjenek segíteni. Mindkét hajót annyira megtöltötték halakkal, hogy majdnem elsüllyedtek.
8-9 A nagy zsákmányt látva a halászokat nagy félelem fogta el. Simon Péter ekkor Jézus lábához borult: „Menj el tőlem, Uram, mert én bűnös vagyok!” — mondta. 10 Ugyanígy megdöbbentek Jakab és János is, Zebedeus fiai, akik Simon társai voltak.
Jézus ekkor azt mondta Simonnak: „Ne félj, mostantól kezdve nem halakat, hanem embereket fogsz halászni.”
11 Ezután a halászok partra húzták a bárkáikat, majd mindent hátrahagyva csatlakoztak Jézushoz.

5 Un jour, alors que Jésus se tenait sur les bords du lac de Génésareth[a] et que la foule se pressait autour de lui pour écouter la Parole de Dieu, 2 il vit deux bateaux au bord du lac. Les pêcheurs en étaient descendus et nettoyaient leurs filets. 3 L’un de ces bateaux appartenait à Simon. Jésus y monta et lui demanda de s’éloigner un peu du rivage, puis il s’assit dans le bateau et se mit à enseigner la foule.
4 Quand il eut fini de parler, il dit à Simon : Avance vers le large, en eau profonde, puis vous jetterez vos filets pour pêcher.
5 – Maître, lui répondit Simon, nous avons travaillé toute la nuit et nous n’avons rien pris. Mais, puisque tu me le demandes, je jetterai les filets.
6 Ils les jetèrent et prirent tant de poissons que leurs filets menaçaient de se déchirer. 7 Alors ils firent signe à leurs associés, dans l’autre bateau, de venir les aider. Ceux-ci arrivèrent, et l’on remplit les deux bateaux, au point qu’ils enfonçaient.
8 En voyant cela, Simon Pierre se jeta aux pieds de Jésus et lui dit : Seigneur, éloigne-toi de moi, car je suis un homme pécheur.
9 En effet, il était saisi d’effroi, ainsi que tous ses compagnons, devant la pêche extraordinaire qu’ils venaient de faire. 10 Il en était de même de Jacques et de Jean, fils de Zébédée, les associés de Simon.
Alors Jésus dit à Simon : N’aie pas peur ! A partir de maintenant, ce sont des hommes que tu attraperas.
11 Dès qu’ils eurent ramené leurs bateaux au rivage, ils laissèrent tout et suivirent Jésus.
