40 But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done (A)nothing wrong.” 42 Then he said [a]to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.”
43 And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in (B)Paradise.”
Jesus Dies on the Cross(C)
44 (D)Now it [b]was about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. 45 Then the sun was [c]darkened, and (E)the veil of the temple was torn in [d]two. 46 And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, “Father, (F)‘into Your hands I commit My spirit.’ ” (G)Having said this, He breathed His last.
47 (H)So when the centurion saw what had happened, he glorified God, saying, “Certainly this was a righteous Man!”
48 And the whole crowd who came together to that sight, seeing what had been done, beat their breasts and returned. 49 (I)But all His acquaintances, and the women who followed Him from Galilee, stood at a distance, watching these things.
Jesus Buried in Joseph’s Tomb(J)
50 (K)Now behold, there was a man named Joseph, a council member, a good and just man. 51 He had not consented to their decision and deed. He was from Arimathea, a city of the Jews, (L)who[e] himself was also waiting for the kingdom of God. 52 This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. 53 (M)Then he took it down, wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a tomb that was hewn out of the rock, where no one had ever lain before. 54 That day was (N)the Preparation, and the Sabbath drew near.
55 And the women (O)who had come with Him from Galilee followed after, and (P)they observed the tomb and how His body was laid. 56 Then they returned and (Q)prepared spices and fragrant oils. And they rested on the Sabbath (R)according to the commandment.
He Is Risen(S)
24 Now (T)on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, [f]and certain other women with them, came to the tomb (U)bringing the spices which they had prepared. 2 (V)But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. 3 (W)Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 And it happened, as they were [g]greatly perplexed about this, that (X)behold, two men stood by them in shining garments. 5 Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? 6 He is not here, but is risen! (Y)Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, 7 saying, ‘The Son of Man must be (Z)delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’ ”
8 And (AA)they remembered His words. 9 (AB)Then they returned from the tomb and told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. 10 It was Mary Magdalene, (AC)Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them, who told these things to the apostles. 11 (AD)And their words seemed to them like [h]idle tales, and they did not believe them. 12 (AE)But Peter arose and ran to the tomb; and stooping down, he saw the linen cloths [i]lying by themselves; and he departed, marveling to himself at what had happened.

40 But the other responded, and rebuking him, said, “Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? 41 And we indeed are suffering justly, for we are receiving [a]what we deserve for our crimes; but this man has done nothing wrong.” 42 And he was saying, “Jesus, remember me when You come into Your kingdom!” 43 And He said to him, “Truly I say to you, today you will be with Me in (A)Paradise.”
44 (B)It was now about [b](C)the sixth hour, and darkness came over the entire land until [c]the ninth hour, 45 [d]because the sun stopped shining; and (D)the veil of the temple was torn [e]in two. 46 And Jesus, (E)crying out with a loud voice, said, “Father, (F)into Your hands I entrust My spirit.” And having said this, He [f]died. 47 (G)Now when the centurion saw what had happened, he began (H)praising God, saying, “This man was in fact [g]innocent.” 48 And all the crowds who came together for this spectacle, after watching what had happened, began to return home, [h](I)beating their chests. 49 (J)And all His acquaintances and (K)the women who accompanied Him from Galilee were standing at a distance, seeing these things.
Jesus Is Buried

The Resurrection
24 (S)But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. 2 And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but when they entered, they did not find the body of (T)the Lord Jesus. 4 While they were perplexed about this, behold, (U)two men suddenly (V)stood near them in gleaming clothing; 5 and as [k]the women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why are you seeking the living One among the dead? 6 He is not here, but He (W)has [l]risen. Remember how He spoke to you (X)while He was still in Galilee, 7 saying that (Y)the Son of Man must be handed over to sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise from the dead.” 8 And (Z)they remembered His words, 9 and returned from the tomb and reported all these things to the eleven, and to all the rest. 10 Now these women were (AA)Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Mary the mother of James; also the other women with them were telling these things to (AB)the apostles. 11 But these words appeared [m]to them as nonsense, and they (AC)would not believe [n]the women. 12 Nevertheless, Peter got up and (AD)ran to the tomb; and when he stooped and looked in, he *saw the linen wrappings [o]only; and he went away (AE)to his [p]home, marveling at what had happened.
