14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness,(A) so the Son of Man must be lifted up,[a](B) 15 that everyone who believes(C) may have eternal life in him.”[b](D)
16 For God so loved(E) the world that he gave(F) his one and only Son,(G) that whoever believes(H) in him shall not perish but have eternal life.(I) 17 For God did not send his Son into the world(J) to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.(K)

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

9 I pray for them.(A) I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me,(B) for they are yours. 10 All I have is yours, and all you have is mine.(C) And glory has come to me through them. 11 I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world,(D) and I am coming to you.(E) Holy Father, protect them by the power of[a] your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one(F) as we are one.(G) 12 While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by[b] that name you gave me. None has been lost(H) except the one doomed to destruction(I) so that Scripture would be fulfilled.(J)
13 “I am coming to you now,(K) but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy(L) within them. 14 I have given them your word and the world has hated them,(M) for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world.(N) 15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.(O) 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.(P) 17 Sanctify them by[c] the truth; your word is truth.(Q) 18 As you sent me into the world,(R) I have sent them into the world.(S)

11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
13 And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.
14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
