John 20:14-18

¹⁴When she had said this, she turned around and *^(A)saw Jesus standing there, and yet she ^(B)did not know that it was Jesus. ¹⁵Jesus *said to her, “^(C)Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” Thinking that He was the gardener, she *said to Him, “Sir, if you have carried Him away, tell me where you put Him, and I will take Him away.” ¹⁶Jesus *said to her, “Mary!” She turned and *said to Him ^(D)in ^[a]Hebrew, “^(E)Rabboni!” (which means, Teacher). ¹⁷Jesus *said to her, “Stop clinging to Me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to ^(F)My brothers and say to them, ‘I am ^(G)ascending to My Father and your Father, and My God and your God.’” ¹⁸^(H)Mary Magdalene *came and ^(I)announced to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord,” and that He had said these things to her.

¹⁴At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there,^(A) but she did not realize that it was Jesus.^(B)

¹⁵He asked her, “Woman, why are you crying?^(C) Who is it you are looking for?”

Thinking he was the gardener, she said, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.”

¹⁶Jesus said to her, “Mary.”

She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic,^(D) “Rabboni!”^(E) (which means “Teacher”).

¹⁷Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers^(F) and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father^(G) and your Father, to my God and your God.’”

¹⁸Mary Magdalene^(H) went to the disciples^(I) with the news: “I have seen the Lord!” And she told them that he had said these things to her.
