⁵ I am the vine, you are the branches; the one who remains in Me, and I in him ^[a](A)bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. ⁶ If anyone does not remain in Me, he is ^(B)thrown away like a branch and dries up; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. ⁷ If you remain in Me, and My words remain in you, ^(C)ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. ⁸ My ^(D)Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so ^[b](E)prove to be My disciples. ⁹ Just as ^(F)the Father has loved Me, I also have loved you; remain in My love. ^10 (G)If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love; just as ^(H)I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love. ^11 (I)These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your ^(J)joy may be made full.
