Job 16:17-22

¹⁷ yet my hands have been free of violence^(A)
    and my prayer is pure.^(B)

¹⁸ “Earth, do not cover my blood;^(C)
    may my cry^(D) never be laid to rest!^(E)
19 Even now my witness^(F) is in heaven;^(G)
    my advocate is on high.^(H)
20 My intercessor^(I) is my friend^[a](J)
    as my eyes pour out^(K) tears^(L) to God;
²¹ on behalf of a man he pleads^(M) with God
    as one pleads for a friend.
