15 In a dream,(A) in a vision(B) of the night,(C)
when deep sleep(D) falls on people
as they slumber in their beds,
16 he may speak(E) in their ears
and terrify them(F) with warnings,(G)
17 to turn them from wrongdoing
and keep them from pride,(H)
18 to preserve them from the pit,(I)
their lives from perishing by the sword.[a](J)
