³ The people of Israel were holy to the Lord,
    like the firstfruits from his harvest [^Cboth belonged to God; Ex. 23:19; Lev. 23:10–14; Num. 18:12–13; Deut. 26:1–11].
Those who tried to ·hurt Israel [^Lconsume it] were judged guilty.
