⁸ Come near to God and he will come near to you.^(A) Wash your hands,^(B) you sinners, and purify your hearts,^(C) you double-minded.^(D)

²⁸ There you will worship man-made gods^(A) of wood and stone,^(B) which cannot see or hear or eat or smell.^{(C) 29} But if from there you seek^(D) the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart^(E) and with all your soul.^(F)
