James 1:21-25
New American Standard Bible
21 Therefore, (A)ridding yourselves of all filthiness and all [a]that remains of wickedness, in [b]humility receive (B)the word implanted, which is able to save your souls. 22 (C)But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not just hearers who deceive themselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his [c]natural face (D)in a mirror; 24 for once he has looked at himself and gone away, [d]he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was. 25 But one who has looked intently at the perfect law, (E)the law of freedom, and has continued in it, not having become a forgetful hearer but [e]an active doer, this person will be (F)blessed in [f]what he does.

New King James Version
Doers—Not Hearers Only
21 Therefore (A)lay aside all filthiness and [a]overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, (B)which is able to save your souls.
22 But (C)be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For (D)if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But (E)he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, (F)this one will be blessed in what he does.

James 1:21-25
Authorized (King James) Version
21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 for he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

21 Therefore (A)put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with (B)meekness the implanted word, (C)which is able to save your souls.
22 But be (D)doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. 24 For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. 25 But the one who looks into the perfect law, (E)the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, (F)he will be blessed in his doing.
