(A)Now the brother or sister of humble circumstances is to glory in his high position; 10 but the rich person is to glory in his [a]humiliation, because (B)like [b]flowering grass he will pass away. 11 For the sun rises with (C)its scorching heat and (D)withers the grass; and its flower falls off and the beauty of its appearance is destroyed; so also the rich person, in the midst of his pursuits, will die out.

12 (E)Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has [c]been approved, he will receive (F)the crown of life which the Lord (G)has promised to those who (H)love Him.

Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position.(A) 10 But the rich should take pride in their humiliation—since they will pass away like a wild flower.(B) 11 For the sun rises with scorching heat(C) and withers(D) the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed.(E) In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business.

12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial(F) because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life(G) that the Lord has promised to those who love him.(H)
