19 And I will betroth you to me (A)forever. (B)I will betroth you to me in righteousness and in justice, in steadfast love and in mercy. 20 (C)I will betroth you to me in faithfulness. And (D)you shall know the Lord.
21 “And (E)in that day (F)I will answer, declares the Lord,
I will answer the heavens,
and they shall answer the earth,
22 and the earth shall answer the grain, the wine, and the oil,
and they shall answer (G)Jezreel,[a]
23 and (H)I will sow her for myself in the land.
And (I)I (J)will have mercy on No Mercy,[b]
and (K)I will say to Not My People,[c] (L)‘You are my people’;
and he shall say, ‘You are my God.’”

20 I will betroth you in[c] faithfulness,
and you will acknowledge(D) the Lord.(E)
21 “In that day I will respond,”
declares the Lord—
“I will respond(F) to the skies,
and they will respond to the earth;
22 and the earth will respond to the grain,
the new wine and the olive oil,(G)
and they will respond to Jezreel.[d](H)
23 I will plant(I) her for myself in the land;
I will show my love to the one I called ‘Not my loved one.[e](J)’
I will say to those called ‘Not my people,[f]’ ‘You are my people’;(K)
and they will say, ‘You are my God.(L)’”
