² and there Abraham said of his wife Sarah, “She is my sister.^(A)” Then Abimelek^(B) king of Gerar sent for Sarah and took her.^(C)

²⁵ Then Abraham complained to Abimelek about a well of water that Abimelek’s servants had seized.^(A)

²⁰ But the herders of Gerar quarreled^(A) with those of Isaac and said, “The water is ours!”^(B) So he named the well Esek,^[a] because they disputed with him. ²¹ Then they dug another well, but they quarreled^(C) over that one also; so he named it Sitnah.^[b]
