5 but (A)for Cain and his offering he had no regard. So Cain was very angry, and his face fell. 6 The Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry, and why has your face fallen? 7 (B)If you do well, will you not be accepted?[a] And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door. (C)Its desire is contrary to[b] you, but you must rule over it.”
8 Cain spoke to Abel his brother.[c] And when they were in the field, Cain rose up against his brother Abel and (D)killed him.

5 but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.
6 Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry?(A) Why is your face downcast? 7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door;(B) it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.(C)”
8 Now Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let’s go out to the field.”[a] While they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.(D)
