Galatians 5:19-26

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are obvious:^[a] sexual immorality,^(A) moral impurity,^(B) promiscuity,^{(C) 20} idolatry,^(D) sorcery,^(E) hatreds,^(F) strife,^(G) jealousy,^(H) outbursts of anger,^(I) selfish ambitions,^(J) dissensions,^(K) factions,^{(L) 21} envy,^[b](M) drunkenness, carousing,^(N) and anything similar. I am warning you about these things—as I warned you before—that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.^(O)

²² But the fruit of the Spirit^(P) is love,^(Q) joy,^(R) peace, patience,^(S) kindness,^(T) goodness, faithfulness, ²³ gentleness,^(U) and self-control.^(V) The law is not against such things.^{[c] 24} Now those who belong to Christ Jesus^(W) have crucified the flesh^(X) with its passions and desires.^{(Y) 25} If we live^(Z) by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. ²⁶ Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.^(AA)
