8 “Remember the Sabbath(A) day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work,(B) 10 but the seventh day is a sabbath(C) to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth,(D) the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested(E) on the seventh day.(F) Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

Anyone who desecrates it is to be put to death;(A) those who do any work on that day must be cut off from their people. 15 For six days work(B) is to be done, but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest,(C) holy to the Lord. 14 Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
15 Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the Lord: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.
16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.
17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.
