2 Miért dühösködnek a pogányok, és gondolnak hiábavalóságot a népek?
2 A föld királyai felkerekednek és a fejedelmek együtt tanácskoznak az Úr ellen és az õ felkentje ellen:
3 Szaggassuk le az õ bilincseiket, és dobjuk le magunkról köteleiket!
4 Az egekben lakozó neveti, az Úr megcsúfolja õket.
5 Majd szól nékik haragjában, és megrettenti õket gerjedelmében:
6 Én kentem ám fel az én királyomat a Sionon, az én szent hegyemen!
7 Törvényül hirdetem: Az Úr mondá nékem: Én fiam vagy te; én ma nemzettelek téged.
8 Kérjed tõlem és odaadom néked a pogányokat örökségül, és birtokodul a föld határait.
9 Összetöröd õket vasvesszõvel: széjjelzúzod õket, mint cserépedényt.
10 Azért, királyok, legyetek eszesek, és okuljatok földnek bírái!
11 Szolgáljátok az Urat félelemmel, és örüljetek reszketéssel.
12 Csókoljátok a Fiút, hogy meg ne haragudjék és el ne veszszetek az úton, mert hamar felgerjed az õ haragja. Boldogok mindazok, a kik õ benne bíznak!

Consécration et règne du divin roi
2 *Pourquoi cette agitation parmi les nations
et ces préoccupations dépourvues de sens parmi les peuples?
2 Les rois de la terre se soulèvent
et les chefs se liguent ensemble
contre l’Eternel et contre celui qu’il a désigné par onction[a]:
3 «Arrachons leurs liens,
jetons leurs chaînes loin de nous!»
4 Celui qui siège dans le ciel rit,
le Seigneur se moque d’eux.
5 Puis il leur parle dans sa colère,
il les épouvante dans sa fureur:
6 «C’est moi qui ai établi mon roi
sur Sion, ma montagne sainte!»
7 Je veux proclamer le décret de l’Eternel.
Il m’a dit: «*Tu es mon fils,
je t’ai engendré aujourd’hui![b]
8 Demande-le-moi, et *je te donnerai les nations[c] en héritage,
les extrémités de la terre en possession.
9 *Tu les briseras avec un sceptre de fer,
tu les briseras comme le vase d’un potier.[d]»
10 Et maintenant, rois, conduisez-vous avec sagesse!
Juges de la terre, laissez-vous instruire!
11 Servez l’Eternel avec crainte
et réjouissez-vous tout en tremblant.
12 Rendez hommage au fils, de peur qu’il ne s’irrite
et que vous n’alliez à votre perte,
car sa colère s’enflamme rapidement.
Heureux tous ceux qui se confient en lui!

1 Why do the nations conspire[a]
and the peoples plot(A) in vain?
2 The kings(B) of the earth rise up
and the rulers band together
against the Lord and against his anointed,(C) saying,
3 “Let us break their chains(D)
and throw off their shackles.”(E)
4 The One enthroned(F) in heaven laughs;(G)
the Lord scoffs at them.
5 He rebukes them in his anger(H)
and terrifies them in his wrath,(I) saying,
6 “I have installed my king(J)
on Zion,(K) my holy mountain.(L)”
7 I will proclaim the Lord’s decree:
He said to me, “You are my son;(M)
today I have become your father.(N)
8 Ask me,
and I will make the nations(O) your inheritance,(P)
the ends of the earth(Q) your possession.
9 You will break them with a rod of iron[b];(R)
you will dash them to pieces(S) like pottery.(T)”
10 Therefore, you kings, be wise;(U)
be warned, you rulers(V) of the earth.
11 Serve the Lord with fear(W)
and celebrate his rule(X) with trembling.(Y)
12 Kiss his son,(Z) or he will be angry
and your way will lead to your destruction,
for his wrath(AA) can flare up in a moment.

2 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying,
3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
7 I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
11 Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
