Zephaniah 2:3-5

3 Seek the Lord, all you humble people of the earth who have carried out his commands. Seek righteousness. Seek humility. Maybe then you will be sheltered in the day of the Lord’s anger.

4 Yes, Gaza will be deserted, and Ashkelon will be desolate. Ashdod’s people will be driven out by noon, and Ekron will be uprooted. 5 Woe to the inhabitants of the seacoast, the nation of the Kerethites! The word of the Lord is against you, O Canaan, the land of the Philistines. I will destroy you so that no one is left alive!

3 Seek(A) the Lord, all you humble of the land,
    you who do what he commands.
Seek righteousness,(B) seek humility;(C)
    perhaps you will be sheltered(D)
    on the day of the Lord’s anger.

Philistia

4 Gaza(E) will be abandoned
    and Ashkelon(F) left in ruins.
At midday Ashdod will be emptied
    and Ekron uprooted.
5 Woe to you who live by the sea,
    you Kerethite(G) people;
the word of the Lord is against you,(H)
    Canaan, land of the Philistines.
He says, “I will destroy you,
    and none will be left.”(I)
