Zephaniah 1:8-9
English Standard Version
8 And on the day of the Lord's sacrifice—
(A)“I will punish the officials and the king's sons
and (B)all who array themselves in foreign attire.
9 On that day I will punish
everyone (C)who leaps over the threshold,
and those who fill their master's[a] house
with violence and fraud.

11 (A)Wail, O inhabitants of the Mortar!
For all the traders[a] are no more;
all who weigh out silver are cut off.
12 At that time (B)I will search Jerusalem with lamps,
and I will punish the men
(C)who are complacent,[b]
(D)those who say in their hearts,
‘The Lord will not do good,
nor will he do ill.’
13 Their goods shall be (E)plundered,
and their houses laid waste.
(F)Though they build houses,
they shall not inhabit them;
(G)though they plant vineyards,
they shall not drink wine from them.”

11 Wail,(A) you who live in the market district[a];
all your merchants will be wiped out,
all who trade with[b] silver will be destroyed.(B)
12 At that time I will search Jerusalem with lamps
and punish those who are complacent,(C)
who are like wine left on its dregs,(D)
who think, ‘The Lord will do nothing,(E)
either good or bad.’(F)
13 Their wealth will be plundered,(G)
their houses demolished.
Though they build houses,
they will not live in them;
though they plant vineyards,
they will not drink the wine.”(H)
