⁴ “I will stretch out my hand^(A) against Judah
    and against all who live in Jerusalem.
I will destroy every remnant of Baal worship in this place,^(B)
    the very names of the idolatrous priests^(C)—

⁵ The people who live in Samaria fear
    for the calf-idol^(A) of Beth Aven.^[a](B)
Its people will mourn over it,
    and so will its idolatrous priests,^(C)
those who had rejoiced over its splendor,
    because it is taken from them into exile.^(D)

¹³ I will destroy your idols^(A)
    and your sacred stones from among you;^(B)
you will no longer bow down
    to the work of your hands.^(C)

¹² Their houses will be turned over to others,^(A)
    together with their fields and their wives,^(B)
when I stretch out my hand^(C)
    against those who live in the land,”
declares the Lord.

²⁶ This is the plan^(A) determined for the whole world;
    this is the hand^(B) stretched out over all nations.
²⁷ For the Lord Almighty has purposed,^(C) and who can thwart him?
    His hand^(D) is stretched out, and who can turn it back?^(E)

¹² “You stretch out^(A) your right hand,
    and the earth swallows your enemies.^(B)
