⁴ who said to him, “Run, speak to this young man, saying: ^(A)‘Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls, because of the multitude of men and livestock in it.

¹⁷ “Again proclaim, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts:

¹¹ You will say, ‘I will go up against a land of ^(A)unwalled villages; I will ^(B)go to a peaceful people, ^(C)who dwell ^[a]safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates’—

²² As ^(A)the host of heaven cannot be numbered, nor the sand of the sea measured, so will I ^(B)multiply the descendants of David My servant and the ^(C)Levites who minister to Me.’ ”

¹⁰ All the land shall be turned into a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem. ^[a]Jerusalem shall be raised up and ^(A)inhabited in her place from Benjamin’s Gate to the place of the First Gate and the Corner Gate, ^(B)and from the Tower of Hananel to the king’s winepresses.

⁶ In that day I will make the governors of Judah ^(A)like a firepan in the woodpile, and like a fiery torch in the sheaves; they shall devour all the surrounding peoples on the right hand and on the left, but Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place—Jerusalem.

⁴ “Thus says the Lord of hosts:

¹⁰ I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, all of it; and the cities shall be inhabited and ^(A)the ruins rebuilt. ^11 (B)I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and ^[a]bear young; I will make you inhabited as in former times, and do ^(C)better for you than at your beginnings. ^(D)Then you shall know that I am the Lord.
