⁷ It will be a day known only to Yahweh,^(A) without day or night, but there will be light at evening.

No One Knows the Day or Hour

³⁶ “Now concerning that day and hour no one knows—neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son^[a] —except the Father only.^(A)

⁴⁴ This is why you also must be ready, because the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.^(A)

⁷ He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or periods that the Father has set by His own authority.^(A)

² For you yourselves know very well that the Day of the Lord^(A) will come just like a thief^(B) in the night.

¹⁰ But the Day of the Lord^(A) will come like a thief;^[a](B) on that day the heavens will pass away^(C) with a loud noise, the elements will burn and be dissolved,^(D) and the earth and the works on it will be disclosed.^[b]

¹⁵ “Look, I am coming like a thief. The one who is alert and remains clothed^[a](A) so that he may not go around naked and people see his shame^(B) is blessed.”^(C)
