³ Then the Lord will go out and fight^(A) against those nations, as he fights on a day of battle.^{(B) 4} On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives,^(C) east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split^(D) in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south.

² But for you who revere my name,^(A) the sun of righteousness^(B) will rise with healing^(C) in its rays. And you will go out and frolic^(D) like well-fed calves. ³ Then you will trample^(E) on the wicked; they will be ashes^(F) under the soles of your feet on the day when I act,” says the Lord Almighty.

²⁷ For as lightning^(A) that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming^(B) of the Son of Man.^{(C) 28} Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.^(D)

²⁹ “Immediately after the distress of those days

³⁰ “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth^[b] will mourn^(F) when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven,^(G) with power and great glory.^[c]

The Heavenly Warrior Defeats the Beast

¹¹ I saw heaven standing open^(A) and there before me was a white horse, whose rider^(B) is called Faithful and True.^(C) With justice he judges and wages war.^{(D) 12} His eyes are like blazing fire,^(E) and on his head are many crowns.^(F) He has a name written on him^(G) that no one knows but he himself.^{(H) 13} He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood,^(I) and his name is the Word of God.^{(J) 14} The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen,^(K) white^(L) and clean. ¹⁵ Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword^(M) with which to strike down^(N) the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.”^[a](O) He treads the winepress^(P) of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. ¹⁶ On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:^(Q)
