Zechariah 1:7-17
English Standard Version
A Vision of a Horseman
7 On the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month, which is the month of Shebat, in the second year of Darius, the word of the Lord came to the prophet (A)Zechariah, the son of (B)Berechiah, son of (C)Iddo, saying, 8 “I saw in the night, and behold, (D)a man riding on a red horse! He was standing among the myrtle trees in the glen, and behind him were (E)red, sorrel, and white horses. 9 Then I said, ‘What are these, my lord?’ (F)The angel who talked with me said to me, ‘I will show you what they are.’ 10 So (G)the man who was standing among the myrtle trees answered, (H)‘These are they whom the Lord has sent to (I)patrol the earth.’ 11 And they answered (J)the angel of the Lord who was standing among the myrtle trees, and said, (K)‘We have patrolled the earth, and behold, all the earth (L)remains at rest.’ 12 Then (M)the angel of the Lord said, (N)‘O Lord of hosts, (O)how long will you (P)have no mercy on Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, against which you have been angry these (Q)seventy years?’ 13 And the Lord answered (R)gracious and comforting words to (S)the angel who talked with me. 14 So (T)the angel who talked with me said to me, ‘Cry out, Thus says the Lord of hosts: (U)I am exceedingly jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion. 15 (V)And I am exceedingly angry with the nations that are (W)at ease; (X)for while I was angry but a little, (Y)they furthered the disaster. 16 Therefore, thus says the Lord, (Z)I have returned to Jerusalem with mercy; (AA)my house shall be built in it, declares the Lord of hosts, and (AB)the measuring line shall be stretched out over Jerusalem. 17 Cry out again, Thus says the Lord of hosts: (AC)My cities shall again overflow with prosperity, (AD)and the Lord will again comfort Zion and again (AE)choose Jerusalem.’”

O Lord, Be Gracious to Me
To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David.
41 (A)Blessed is the one who considers the poor![a]
(B)In the day of trouble the Lord delivers him;
2 the Lord protects him and keeps him alive;
he is called blessed in the land;
you (C)do not give him up to the will of his enemies.
3 The Lord sustains him on his sickbed;
in his illness you restore him to full health.[b]
4 As for me, I said, “O Lord, (D)be gracious to me;
(E)heal me,[c] for I have sinned against you!”
5 My enemies say of me in malice,
“When will he die, and his name perish?”
6 And when one comes to see me, (F)he utters empty words,
while his heart gathers iniquity;
when he goes out, he tells it abroad.
7 All who hate me whisper together about me;
they imagine the worst for me.[d]
8 They say, “A deadly thing is poured out[e] on him;
he will not rise again from where he lies.”
9 Even my (G)close friend in whom I trusted,
who (H)ate my bread, has lifted his heel against me.
10 But you, O Lord, be gracious to me,
and raise me up, that I may repay them!
11 By this I know that (I)you delight in me:
my enemy will not shout in triumph over me.
12 But (J)you have upheld me because of (K)my integrity,
and (L)set me in your presence (M)forever.
13 (N)Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting!
Amen and Amen.

To the Church in Philadelphia
7 “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: ‘The words of (A)the holy one, (B)the true one, (C)who has the key of David, (D)who opens and no one will shut, who shuts and no one opens.
8 “‘I know your works. Behold, I have set before you (E)an open door, which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. 9 Behold, I will make those of (F)the synagogue of Satan who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie—behold, (G)I will make them come and bow down before your feet, and they will learn that (H)I have loved you. 10 (I)Because you have kept my word about patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try (J)those who dwell on the earth. 11 (K)I am coming soon. (L)Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize (M)your crown. 12 (N)The one who conquers, I will make him (O)a pillar in the temple of my God. Never shall he go out of it, and I will write on him (P)the name of my God, and (Q)the name of the city of my God, (R)the new Jerusalem, (S)which comes down from my God out of heaven, and my own (T)new name. 13 (U)He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’

The Abomination of Desolation
15 “So when you see the abomination of desolation (A)spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in (B)the holy place ((C)let the reader understand), 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 (D)Let the one who is on (E)the housetop not go down to take what is in his house, 18 and let the one who is in the field not turn back to take his cloak. 19 And (F)alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! 20 Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath. 21 For then there will be (G)great tribulation, (H)such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be. 22 And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for (I)the sake of the elect those days will be cut short. 23 (J)Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. 24 For (K)false christs and (L)false prophets will arise and (M)perform great signs and wonders, (N)so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, (O)I have told you beforehand. 26 So, if they say to you, ‘Look, (P)he is in the wilderness,’ do not go out. If they say, ‘Look, he is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. 27 (Q)For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be (R)the coming of the Son of Man. 28 (S)Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.
The Coming of the Son of Man
29 “Immediately after (T)the tribulation of those days (U)the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and (V)the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then (W)will appear in heaven (X)the sign of the Son of Man, and then (Y)all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and (Z)they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven (AA)with power and great glory. 31 And (AB)he will send out his angels with a loud (AC)trumpet call, and they will (AD)gather (AE)his elect from (AF)the four winds, (AG)from one end of heaven to the other.
