Zechariah 7:7-11

⁷^(A)Were not these the words that the Lord proclaimed ^(B)by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and prosperous, ^(C)with her cities around her, and the ^(D)South and the ^(E)lowland were inhabited?’”

⁸And the word of the Lord came to Zechariah, saying, ⁹“Thus says the Lord of hosts, ^(F)Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another, ¹⁰^(G)do not oppress the widow, the fatherless, the sojourner, ^(H)or the poor, and ^(I)let none of you devise evil against another in your heart.” ¹¹But ^(J)they refused to pay attention ^(K)and turned a stubborn shoulder and stopped their ears that they might not hear.^[a]

⁸And the word of the Lord came again to Zechariah: ⁹“This is what the Lord Almighty said: ‘Administer true justice;^(E) show mercy and compassion to one another.^(F) ¹⁰Do not oppress the widow^(G) or the fatherless, the foreigner^(H) or the poor.^(I) Do not plot evil against each other.’^(J)
