Zechariah 13:7-14:9

The Shepherd Struck, the Sheep Scattered

⁷“Awake, sword,^(A) against my shepherd,^(B)
    against the man who is close to me!”
    declares the Lord Almighty.
“Strike the shepherd,
    and the sheep will be scattered,^(C)
    and I will turn my hand against the little ones.
⁸In the whole land,” declares the Lord,
    “two-thirds will be struck down and perish;
    yet one-third will be left in it.^(D)
⁹This third I will put into the fire;^(E)
    I will refine them like silver^(F)
    and test them like gold.^(G)
They will call^(H) on my name^(I)
    and I will answer^(J) them;
I will say, ‘They are my people,’^(K)
    and they will say, ‘The Lord is our God.^(L)’”

The Lord Comes and Reigns

14 A day of the Lord^(M) is coming, Jerusalem, when your possessions^(N) will be plundered and divided up within your very walls.

²I will gather all the nations^(O) to Jerusalem to fight against it;^(P) the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped.^(Q) Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be taken from the city.^(R) ³Then the Lord will go out and fight^(S) against those nations, as he fights on a day of battle.^(T) ⁴On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives,^(U) east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split^(V) in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south. ⁵You will flee by my mountain valley, for it will extend to Azel. You will flee as you fled from the earthquake^[a]^(W) in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the Lord my God will come,^(X) and all the holy ones with him.^(Y)

⁶On that day there will be neither sunlight^(Z) nor cold, frosty darkness. ⁷It will be a unique^(AA) day—a day known only to the Lord—with no distinction between day and night.^(AB) When evening comes, there will be light.^(AC)

⁸On that day living water^(AD) will flow^(AE) out from Jerusalem, half of it east^(AF) to the Dead Sea and half of it west to the Mediterranean Sea, in summer and in winter.^(AG)

⁹The Lord will be king^(AH) over the whole earth.^(AI) On that day there will be one Lord, and his name the only name.^(AJ)
