⁸ On that day the Lord will ^(A)protect the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the one who ^[a](B)is feeble among them on that day will be like David, and the house of David will be like ^(C)God, like the ^(D)angel of the Lord before them. ⁹ And on that day I will ^(E)seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

¹⁰ “And I will ^(F)pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem ^[b]the Spirit of grace and of pleading, so that they will look at Me whom they ^(G)pierced; and they will mourn for Him, like one ^(H)mourning for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a firstborn.

³⁴ Yet one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately ^(A)blood and water came out. ³⁵ And he who has seen has ^(B)testified, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he is telling the truth, so that you also may believe. ³⁶ For these things took place ^(C)so that the Scripture would be fulfilled: “^(D)Not a bone of Him shall be ^[a]broken.” ³⁷ And again another Scripture says, “^(E)They will look at Him whom they pierced.”
