“‘At that time,[a] I will search out and destroy all of the nations who have come against Jerusalem. 10 I will pour out on the house of David and on the residents of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and of supplications, and they will look to me—the one whom they pierced.’”[b]

Mourning in Jerusalem

Then they will mourn for him, as for an only son. They will grieve bitterly for him, as for a firstborn son. 11 At that time,[c] Jerusalem will mourn deeply, like the mourning about Hadad-rimmon[d] that took place in the plain of Megiddo.

10 “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit[a](C) of grace and supplication.(D) They will look on[b] me, the one they have pierced,(E) and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child,(F) and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.(G) 11 On that day the weeping(H) in Jerusalem will be as great as the weeping of Hadad Rimmon in the plain of Megiddo.(I)
