Zechariah 10

Restoration of Judah and Israel
10 Ask rain from the Lord
in the season of the spring rain,
from the Lord who makes the storm clouds,
who gives showers of rain to you,[a]
the vegetation in the field to everyone.
2 For the teraphim[b] utter nonsense,
and the diviners see lies;
the dreamers tell false dreams,
and give empty consolation.
Therefore the people wander like sheep;
they suffer for lack of a shepherd.
3 My anger is hot against the shepherds,
and I will punish the leaders;[c]
for the Lord of hosts cares for his flock, the house of Judah,
and will make them like his proud war-horse.
4 Out of them shall come the cornerstone,
out of them the tent peg,
out of them the battle bow,
out of them every commander.
5 Together they shall be like warriors in battle,
trampling the foe in the mud of the streets;
they shall fight, for the Lord is with them,
and they shall put to shame the riders on horses.
6 I will strengthen the house of Judah,
and I will save the house of Joseph.
I will bring them back because I have compassion on them,
and they shall be as though I had not rejected them;
for I am the Lord their God and I will answer them.
7 Then the people of Ephraim shall become like warriors,
and their hearts shall be glad as with wine.
Their children shall see it and rejoice,
their hearts shall exult in the Lord.
8 I will signal for them and gather them in,
for I have redeemed them,
and they shall be as numerous as they were before.
9 Though I scattered them among the nations,
yet in far countries they shall remember me,
and they shall rear their children and return.
10 I will bring them home from the land of Egypt,
and gather them from Assyria;
I will bring them to the land of Gilead and to Lebanon,
until there is no room for them.
11 They[d] shall pass through the sea of distress,
and the waves of the sea shall be struck down,
and all the depths of the Nile dried up.
The pride of Assyria shall be laid low,
and the scepter of Egypt shall depart.
12 I will make them strong in the Lord,
and they shall walk in his name,
says the Lord.

10 (A)Chiedete al Signore la pioggia nella stagione di primavera! Il Signore che produce i lampi darà loro abbondanza di pioggia, a ciascuno erba nel proprio campo.
2 Poiché gli idoli domestici dicono cose vane, gli indovini vedono menzogne, i sogni mentono e danno un vano conforto; perciò costoro vanno smarriti come pecore, sono afflitti, perché non c’è pastore.
3 La mia ira si è accesa contro i pastori e io punirò i capri; perché il Signore degli eserciti visita il suo gregge, la casa di Giuda, e ne fa come il suo cavallo d’onore nella battaglia.
4 Da lui uscirà la pietra angolare, da lui il paletto, da lui l’arco di battaglia, da lui usciranno tutti i condottieri insieme.
5 Saranno come prodi che calpestano il fango delle strade in battaglia, combatteranno perché il Signore è con loro; ma quelli che sono in groppa ai cavalli saranno confusi.
6 (B)«Io rafforzerò la casa di Giuda, salverò la casa di Giuseppe e li ricondurrò, perché ho pietà di loro; saranno come se non li avessi mai scacciati, perché io sono il Signore, il loro Dio, e li esaudirò.
7 Quelli di Efraim saranno come un prode, e il loro cuore si rallegrerà come per effetto del vino; i loro figli lo vedranno e si rallegreranno, il loro cuore esulterà nel Signore.
8 Con un fischio li raccoglierò, perché li voglio riscattare; essi si moltiplicheranno come già si moltiplicarono.
9 Poi li disperderò fra i popoli ed essi si ricorderanno di me nei paesi lontani; vivranno con i loro figli e torneranno.
10 Io li farò tornare dal paese d’Egitto e li raccoglierò dall’Assiria; li farò venire nel paese di Galaad e in Libano, ma non vi si troverà posto sufficiente per loro.
11 Egli passerà per il mare della distretta; ma nel mare egli colpirà i flutti, e tutte le profondità del fiume saranno prosciugate. L’orgoglio dell’Assiria sarà abbattuto e lo scettro d’Egitto sarà tolto via.
12 Li renderò forti nel Signore, ed essi cammineranno nel suo nome», dice il Signore.

10 Az Örökkévalótól kérjetek esőt
tavasz idején!
Mert ő küld nektek viharfelhőket,
és bőséges záporesőt,
megnöveszti a gabonát,
és a legelő füvét.
2 A házibálványok csak becsapnak,
a jósnők mind hazudnak,
értelmetlen álmokat magyaráznak,
üres ígérettel hitegetnek!
Miattuk tévelyeg népem,
szanaszét kóborolnak,
tévelyegnek,
mint a juhok,
ha nincs pásztoruk.
3 Ezt mondja az Örökkévaló:
„Haragra lobbantam
népem pásztorai ellen,
és megbüntetem
a bak-természetű vezetőket,
mert az Örökkévaló, a Seregek Ura
gondot visel Júda népére,
ahogy az igazi pásztor
a maga nyájára.
Bizony, felkészíti őket,
mint jól felszerelt harci paripáját!
4 Mert azok közül a vezetők közül
származnak azok,
akik olyanok, mint a sarokkő,
megbízhatók, mint a sátorszeg,
erősek, mint harcban az íj[a].
5 Együtt küzdenek,
mint hősök a csatában,
letapossák ellenségeiket,
mint az utca sarát.
Harcolnak, mert az Örökkévaló
velük van,

6 Megerősítem Júda népét,

hazahozom a száműzetésből,
és letelepítem őket,
mert megkönyörültem rajtuk.

7 Akkor Efraim népe olyan lesz,
mint a hős.
Szívük felvidul, és örül,

Látják ezt fiaik,
és ők is örülnek,

8 Jelt adok nekik,
és összegyűjtöm népemet,
hiszen megváltottam őket,
ismét megsokasodnak,
mint régen.
9 Noha szétszórtam őket

2 Car vos idoles domestiques |ont débité des mots trompeurs,
les devins ont transmis |des révélations fausses.
Ils racontaient des songes |qui n’étaient que mensonges,
et leurs consolations |étaient des illusions.
Voilà pourquoi ce peuple |a dû partir au loin,
dans la misère, |comme un troupeau |qui n’a pas de berger.
Un nouvel exode
3 C’est contre les bergers |que je suis en colère,
j’interviendrai contre les boucs.
Le Seigneur des armées célestes |vient s’occuper
de son troupeau, |le peuple de Juda,
et il va faire d’eux |son cheval glorieux |pour la bataille.
4 Car la pierre angulaire[a] |sortira de Juda,
de lui aussi viendra |le piquet de la tente
ainsi que l’arc de guerre.
Oui, de lui tous les chefs |seront issus.
5 Pareils à des guerriers
foulant la boue des rues |au cours de la bataille,
ils combattront.
L’Eternel sera avec eux.
Alors leurs ennemis |montés sur des chevaux
seront couverts de honte.
6 J’affermirai |le peuple de Juda,
je sauverai |le peuple de Joseph.
Je les rétablirai,
car j’aurai de l’amour pour eux,
ils seront comme un peuple |que je n’aurais jamais |rejeté loin de moi.
Car je suis l’Eternel, leur Dieu ;
je les exaucerai.
7 Le peuple d’Ephraïm[b] |aura de la vaillance |tels des guerriers,
leur cœur sera joyeux |tout comme on se réjouit |quand on a bu du vin.
Leurs enfants le verront |et eux aussi seront joyeux
car à cause de l’Eternel |ils auront le cœur plein de joie.
8 Oui, en sifflant, |je les rassemblerai,
car je les aurai délivrés
et ils seront aussi nombreux |qu’ils l’étaient autrefois.
9 Je les ai dispersés |au sein de peuples étrangers,
dans des pays lointains ; |là ils se souviendront de moi.
Ils subsisteront avec leurs enfants,
ils reviendront.
10 Je les ramènerai d’Egypte,
je les rassemblerai |de l’Assyrie[c],
je les ferai rentrer |en Galaad et au Liban[d],
et, même ainsi, l’espace |ne leur suffira pas.
11 Israël franchira |la mer de la détresse.
L’Eternel frappera |les vagues de la mer,
et il mettra à sec |le Nil jusqu’en ses profondeurs.
L’orgueil de l’Assyrie |sera brisé,
le sceptre de l’Egypte |lui sera enlevé.
12 Et aux Israélites, |je donnerai la force |qui vient de l’Eternel.
Ils marcheront pour lui,
