14 So the angel who spoke with me said to me, [a]“Proclaim, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts:

“I am (A)zealous[b] for Jerusalem
And for Zion with great [c]zeal.
15 I am exceedingly angry with the nations at ease;
For (B)I was a little angry,
And they helped—but with evil intent.

16 ‘Therefore thus says the Lord:

(C)“I am returning to Jerusalem with mercy;
My (D)house (E)shall be built in it,” says the Lord of hosts,
“And (F)a surveyor’s line shall be stretched out over Jerusalem.” ’

17 “Again proclaim, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts:

“My cities shall again [d]spread out through prosperity;
(G)The Lord will again comfort Zion,
And (H)will again choose Jerusalem.” ’ ”

16 “Therefore this is what the Lord says: ‘I will return(E) to Jerusalem with mercy, and there my house will be rebuilt. And the measuring line(F) will be stretched out over Jerusalem,’ declares the Lord Almighty.(G)

17 “Proclaim further: This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘My towns will again overflow with prosperity, and the Lord will again comfort(H) Zion and choose(I) Jerusalem.’”(J)
