⁴ In that day His feet will ^(A)stand on the Mount of Olives, which is in front of Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives will be ^(B)split in its middle from east to west by a very large valley, so that half of the mountain will move toward the north and the other half toward the south. ⁵ You will flee by the valley of My mountains, for the valley of the mountains will reach to Azel; yes, you will flee just as you fled before the ^(C)earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. ^(D)Then the Lord, my God, will come, and all the holy ones with ^[a]Him!

⁶ In that day there will be ^(E)no light; the ^[b]luminaries will dwindle. ⁷ For it will be ^(F)a unique day which is ^(G)known to the Lord, neither day nor night, but it will come about that at ^(H)evening time there will be light.

⁸ And in that day ^(I)living waters will flow out of Jerusalem, half of them toward the eastern sea and the other half toward the western sea; it will be in summer as well as in winter.

God Will Be King over All

⁹ And the Lord will be ^(J)king over all the earth; in that day the Lord will be the only ^(K)one, and His name the only one.

¹⁰ All the land will be changed into a plain from ^(L)Geba to ^(M)Rimmon south of Jerusalem; but ^[c]Jerusalem will ^(N)rise and ^(O)remain on its site from ^(P)Benjamin’s Gate as far as the place of the First Gate to the ^(Q)Corner Gate, and from the ^(R)Tower of Hananel to the king’s wine presses. ^11 [d]People will live in it, and there will ^(S)no longer be a curse, for Jerusalem will ^(T)dwell in security.

¹¹ And He ^(A)gave ^(B)some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as ^(C)evangelists, and some as pastors and ^(D)teachers, ^12 (E)for the equipping of the ^[a]saints for the work of service, to the building up of ^(F)the body of Christ; ¹³ until we all attain to ^(G)the unity of the faith, and of the ^[b](H)knowledge of the Son of God, to a ^(I)mature man, to the measure of the stature ^[c]which belongs to the ^(J)fullness of Christ. ^14 [d]As a result, we are ^(K)no longer to be children, ^(L)tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by ^(M)craftiness ^[e]in ^(N)deceitful scheming; ¹⁵ but ^[f]speaking the truth ^(O)in love, ^[g]we are to ^(P)grow up in all aspects into Him who is the ^(Q)head, even Christ, ¹⁶ from whom ^(R)the whole body, being fitted and held together ^[h]by what every joint supplies, according to the ^[i]proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself ^(S)in love.

⁹ For they themselves report about us what kind of a ^[a](A)reception we had ^[b]with you, and how you ^(B)turned to God ^(C)from ^[c]idols to serve ^[d](D)a living and true God, ¹⁰ and to ^(E)wait for His Son from ^[e]heaven, whom He ^(F)raised from the dead, that is Jesus, who ^(G)rescues us from ^(H)the wrath to come.

Those Who Died in Christ

¹³ But ^(A)we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who ^(B)are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do ^(C)the rest who have ^(D)no hope. ¹⁴ For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, ^(E)even so God will bring with Him ^(F)those who have fallen asleep ^[a]in Jesus. ¹⁵ For this we say to you ^(G)by the word of the Lord, that ^(H)we who are alive ^[b]and remain until ^(I)the coming of the Lord, will not precede ^(J)those who have fallen asleep. ¹⁶ For the Lord ^(K)Himself ^(L)will descend from heaven with a ^[c](M)shout, with the voice of ^(N)the archangel and with the ^(O)trumpet of God, and ^(P)the dead in Christ will rise first. ¹⁷ Then ^(Q)we who are alive ^[d]and remain will be ^(R)caught up together with them ^(S)in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always ^(T)be with the Lord. ¹⁸ Therefore comfort one another with these words.

^6 (A)Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the ^(B)second death has no power, but they will be ^(C)priests of God and of Christ and will ^(D)reign with Him for a thousand years.
