In that day His feet will (A)stand on the Mount of Olives, which is in front of Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives will be (B)split in its middle from east to west by a very large valley, so that half of the mountain will move toward the north and the other half toward the south. You will flee by the valley of My mountains, for the valley of the mountains will reach to Azel; yes, you will flee just as you fled before the (C)earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. (D)Then the Lord, my God, will come, and all the holy ones with [a]Him!

In that day there will be (E)no light; the [b]luminaries will dwindle. For it will be (F)a unique day which is (G)known to the Lord, neither day nor night, but it will come about that at (H)evening time there will be light.

And in that day (I)living waters will flow out of Jerusalem, half of them toward the eastern sea and the other half toward the western sea; it will be in summer as well as in winter.

God Will Be King over All

And the Lord will be (J)king over all the earth; in that day the Lord will be the only (K)one, and His name the only one.

10 All the land will be changed into a plain from (L)Geba to (M)Rimmon south of Jerusalem; but [c]Jerusalem will (N)rise and (O)remain on its site from (P)Benjamin’s Gate as far as the place of the First Gate to the (Q)Corner Gate, and from the (R)Tower of Hananel to the king’s wine presses. 11 [d]People will live in it, and there will (S)no longer be a curse, for Jerusalem will (T)dwell in security.

On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives,(A) east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split(B) in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south. You will flee by my mountain valley, for it will extend to Azel. You will flee as you fled from the earthquake[a](C) in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the Lord my God will come,(D) and all the holy ones with him.(E)

On that day there will be neither sunlight(F) nor cold, frosty darkness. It will be a unique(G) day—a day known only to the Lord—with no distinction between day and night.(H) When evening comes, there will be light.(I)

On that day living water(J) will flow(K) out from Jerusalem, half of it east(L) to the Dead Sea and half of it west to the Mediterranean Sea, in summer and in winter.(M)

The Lord will be king(N) over the whole earth.(O) On that day there will be one Lord, and his name the only name.(P)

10 The whole land, from Geba(Q) to Rimmon,(R) south of Jerusalem, will become like the Arabah. But Jerusalem will be raised up(S) high from the Benjamin Gate(T) to the site of the First Gate, to the Corner Gate,(U) and from the Tower of Hananel(V) to the royal winepresses, and will remain in its place.(W) 11 It will be inhabited;(X) never again will it be destroyed. 11 And He (A)gave (B)some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as (C)evangelists, and some as pastors and (D)teachers, 12 (E)for the equipping of the [a]saints for the work of service, to the building up of (F)the body of Christ; 13 until we all attain to (G)the unity of the faith, and of the [b](H)knowledge of the Son of God, to a (I)mature man, to the measure of the stature [c]which belongs to the (J)fullness of Christ. 14 [d]As a result, we are (K)no longer to be children, (L)tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by (M)craftiness [e]in (N)deceitful scheming; 15 but [f]speaking the truth (O)in love, [g]we are to (P)grow up in all aspects into Him who is the (Q)head, even Christ, 16 from whom (R)the whole body, being fitted and held together [h]by what every joint supplies, according to the [i]proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself (S)in love.

11 So Christ himself gave(A) the apostles,(B) the prophets,(C) the evangelists,(D) the pastors and teachers,(E) 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ(F) may be built up(G) 13 until we all reach unity(H) in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God(I) and become mature,(J) attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.(K)

14 Then we will no longer be infants,(L) tossed back and forth by the waves,(M) and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming.(N) 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love,(O) we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head,(P) that is, Christ. 16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows(Q) and builds itself up(R) in love,(S) as each part does its work.

Those Who Died in Christ

13 But (A)we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who (B)are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do (C)the rest who have (D)no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, (E)even so God will bring with Him (F)those who have fallen asleep [a]in Jesus. 15 For this we say to you (G)by the word of the Lord, that (H)we who are alive [b]and remain until (I)the coming of the Lord, will not precede (J)those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord (K)Himself (L)will descend from heaven with a [c](M)shout, with the voice of (N)the archangel and with the (O)trumpet of God, and (P)the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then (Q)we who are alive [d]and remain will be (R)caught up together with them (S)in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always (T)be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

Believers Who Have Died

13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed(A) about those who sleep in death,(B) so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.(C) 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again,(D) and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.(E) 15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord,(F) will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.(G) 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven,(H) with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel(I) and with the trumpet call of God,(J) and the dead in Christ will rise first.(K) 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left(L) will be caught up together with them in the clouds(M) to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord(N) forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another(O) with these words.
