⁷ Then the strong steeds went out, eager to go, that they might ^(A)walk to and fro throughout the earth. And He said, “Go, walk to and fro throughout the earth.” So they walked to and fro throughout the earth.

¹⁰ And the man who stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, ^(A)“These are the ones whom the Lord has sent to walk to and fro throughout the earth.”

^9 (A)For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. In this ^(B)you have done foolishly; therefore from now on ^(C)you shall have wars.”

Satan Attacks Job’s Health

2 Again ^(A)there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the Lord. ² And the Lord said to Satan, “From where do you come?”

^(B)Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.”

Satan Attacks Job’s Character

⁶ Now ^(A)there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and ^[a]Satan also came among them. ⁷ And the Lord said to ^[b]Satan, “From where do you come?”

So Satan answered the Lord and said, “From ^(B)going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.”

¹⁷ Arise, walk in the land through its length and its width, for I give it to you.”
