⁹ I will surely raise my hand against them so that their slaves will plunder them.^[a](A) Then you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me.^(B)

¹⁶ In that day^(A) the Egyptians will become weaklings.^(B) They will shudder with fear^(C) at the uplifted hand^(D) that the Lord Almighty raises against them.

⁹ “The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation^(A) of this temple; his hands will also complete it.^(B) Then you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me^(C) to you.

¹⁰ They will not need to gather wood from the fields or cut it from the forests, because they will use the weapons for fuel. And they will plunder^(A) those who plundered them and loot those who looted them, declares the Sovereign Lord.^(B)

¹⁵ Those who are far away will come and help to build the temple of the Lord,^(A) and you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you.^(B) This will happen if you diligently obey^(C) the Lord your God.”

⁴ I have told you this, so that when their time comes you will remember^(A) that I warned you about them. I did not tell you this from the beginning because I was with you,^(B)

¹⁹ “I am telling you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe^(A) that I am who I am.^(B)
