⁸ For this is what the Lord Almighty says: “After the Glorious One has sent me against the nations that have plundered you—for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye^(A)—

²¹ They will treat you this way because of my name,^(A) for they do not know the one who sent me.^{(B) 22} If I had not come and spoken to them,^(C) they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.^{(D) 23} Whoever hates me hates my Father as well.

²⁶ But the Advocate,^(A) the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name,^(B) will teach you all things^(C) and will remind you of everything I have said to you.^(D)

⁶ God is just:^(A) He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you^(B)

⁴⁰ “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’^(A)

⁴ “Now what have you against me, Tyre and Sidon^(G) and all you regions of Philistia?^(H) Are you repaying me for something I have done? If you are paying me back, I will swiftly and speedily return on your own heads what you have done.^{(I) 5} For you took my silver and my gold and carried off my finest treasures to your temples.^{[b](J) 6} You sold the people of Judah and Jerusalem to the Greeks,^(K) that you might send them far from their homeland.

⁷ “See, I am going to rouse them out of the places to which you sold them,^(L) and I will return^(M) on your own heads what you have done. ⁸ I will sell your sons^(N) and daughters to the people of Judah,^(O) and they will sell them to the Sabeans,^(P) a nation far away.” The Lord has spoken.^(Q)
