⁵ And I myself will be a wall^(A) of fire^(B) around it,’ declares the Lord, ‘and I will be its glory^(C) within.’^(D)

⁵ Then the Lord will create^(A) over all of Mount Zion^(B) and over those who assemble there a cloud of smoke by day and a glow of flaming fire by night;^(C) over everything the glory^[a](D) will be a canopy.^(E)

²³ The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God^(A) gives it light,^(B) and the Lamb^(C) is its lamp.

³ No longer will there be any curse.^(A) The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him.^{(B) 4} They will see his face,^(C) and his name will be on their foreheads.^{(D) 5} There will be no more night.^(E) They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light.^(F) And they will reign for ever and ever.^(G)

⁷ I will shake all nations, and what is desired^(A) by all nations will come, and I will fill this house^(B) with glory,^(C)’ says the Lord Almighty. ⁸ ‘The silver is mine and the gold^(D) is mine,’ declares the Lord Almighty. ⁹ ‘The glory^(E) of this present house^(F) will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the Lord Almighty. ‘And in this place I will grant peace,^(G)’ declares the Lord Almighty.”
